Meg Newhouse, Ph.D., co-founder of the Life Planning Network and author of Legacies of the Heart: Living a Life that Matters, will discuss her unique perspective on legacy as a compass for enriching our lives and leaving behind evidence that our lives mattered and "left the world a little better than it was." She will share a few of the many stories in her book that illustrate the various dimensions and kinds of legacy we all receive and leave and consider the potential role of conscious elders.

You'll come away from this episode with:

  • an eye-opening and empowering understanding of the legacy
  • a desire to reflect more on your legacy inheritance and your own past and ongoing legacies
  • some ideas and inspiration for future legacies, created as a potential conscious elder.

About Meg Newhouse:

Meg Newhouse, Ph.D., CPPC, is a nationally known pioneer in Second-half LifeCrafting, an author, and a seasoned and gifted group facilitator, teacher, coach, and program designer. Currently, she is most focused on legacy, the topic of her recent book, Legacies of the Heart: Living a Life That Matters, and on the potential of "conscious elders" in addressing our current cultural and political crisis.

In both her professional and personal life, Meg Newhouse has sought to call out "passion and purpose" in her students, coaching clients, and even friends/colleagues. In 2003 she founded The Life Planning Network, a national professional association serving an inspired group of professionals from diverse fields who are committed to helping people navigate the second half of life with intention and a holistic perspective.

She co-led LPN for five years, led the organizing of the first LPN national conference, served on the national LPN Board until 2017, chaired or co-chair committees, and helped plan six national Positive Aging Conferences. Her professional interests have evolved to focus on the potential of "conscious elderhood" and the value of living and acting from a legacy perspective. Meg is a founding member of the Conscious Elders Network.
